Besides you should install a freezing preventer or a good quality air pump, so that you keep part of the water surface open when it will be freezing.

The cold water makes the fish stay on a lower level in the pond water. As long as the water temperature is still over 5 °C, feeding may be continued. In this period special Winter Fish Food is recommended. Do no longer introduce any new fish in the pond.
