Your privacy is very important to Velda B.V. We therefore comply with privacy legislation. So your data are safe with us and we will always use them correctly. In this privacy statement, we explain what we do at the velda.nl, VT.nl and aquatesterpro.com website with information that we acquire about you.

Collecting data
Velda B.V. can receive information from you in the following ways:
Directly from you: for example, when you enter into an agreement with us, if you contact us by email, telephone or in writing (help desk), if you subscribe to our newsletter or if you make use of the guarantee registration.
Through our own website: to, among other things, deliver, improve and register our services, we collect a range of data through our website, for example by using cookies, IP address, location data and information about the use of our website and digital newsletters.
We collect statistics about the use of our website. We use those statistics to improve our website and, for example, to display relevant advertising only. We can combine your personal data to learn more about you. If you do not want us to do so, you can inform us accordingly and we will block your IP address in our systems. Needless to say, we will respect your privacy at all times.
Advertising
We are happy to send you our newsletter with our tips, advice and news for a healthy pond. We do this by email.
You can object to receiving this advertising at any time. Every email contains an link to unsubscribe. You can block us or use the unsubscribe option.
Sharing information with other companies or institutions
We will not pass on your personal information without reason to other companies or institutions, with the exception of Google, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Mailchimp and if we are legally obliged to so (for example in response to a request from the police if they suspect a crime has been committed).
Our website includes social media buttons. The administrators of these services use those buttons to collect your personal data.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small files in which we can store information so that you do not have to enter it all the time. But they also allow us to see that you are visiting us again.
They are:
- the visitor’s IP address;
- the date and time of the visit;
- the URL of the referring site (the site from which the visitor came to our site);
- the pages visited on our website;
- information about the browser used (type and version, operating system, etc.).
You can disable cookies using your browser but some parts of our web shop will then stop working properly.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to keep track of how visitors use our website. We have signed a processor contract with Google. It includes strict agreements about the information they can collect (IP address, the date and time of the visit, the URL of the referring site, the pages visited on our website; information about the browser used). We do not allow Google to use the Analytics information obtained for other Google services. We require Google to anonymise the IP addresses.
Changes to this privacy statement
If our website or other software changes, we must of course amend the privacy statement accordingly. So always take note of the date above and check regularly for new versions. We will do our best to inform you separately about any changes.
Access to your data, making amendments and deleting the data

You have the following rights:
- you can demand an explanation of the personal data we have collected and what we do with it, access the precise personal data we have, and have errors corrected
- instruct us to delete personal data and withdraw permission for the use of personal data
- object to a particular use
Please note that you should always clearly state who you are so that we can be sure that we do not modify or delete the wrong person’s data.
Submitting a complaint
If you think that we are not helping you correctly, you are entitled to file a complaint with the competent authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
